Meet your Postpartum Doula

Janet Paul

Janet Paul is a certified Postpartum Doula supporting families in Philadelphia and the surrounding suburban areas. After receiving her BS in Speech and Hearing Sciences and Psychology from the University of Arizona, Janet worked as a live-in nanny for more than ten years, helping families nurture and raise children from newborns to toddlers. Years spent helping families navigate the postpartum period revealed how critical this window is to establishing a new, healthy, and happy home environment for all members of the household. Janet has a true passion for helping families thrive throughout this transitional period and reestablish balance in the household. She completed her Postpartum Doula training program at Birth Arts International with Beth Goldberg, one of the leading doula trainers in the northeast.

Janet’s goal is to provide non-judgmental support for families throughout the postpartum period, assisting with emotional and physical healing in any way possible. Her services are tailored on a case-by-case basis and can include emotional and physical support, assistance with baby wearing, overnight care, sleep coaching and household help. She is truly a calming force in the home and is capable of effectively managing the multitude of challenges that arise in the postpartum period to ensure that the family can focus on loving and supporting one another as they adjust to life with their newest member(s).

When she’s not helping families, Janet loves to fine tune her pottery skills, spend time hiking and cooking with her partner, and see her two nieces as much as possible.
